The goal of mobile dentistry is to provide high-quality dental services for those who cannot regularly access a traditional dental office. Factors including illness, disability, or lack of transportation can make it extremely difficult for some people to have a healthy smile. The Services
Dr. Homann can provide a wide variety of services utilizing his mobile setup. Common services include exams, preventative care such as cleanings, sealants, fluoride, x-rays, fillings, deep cleanings, extractions, and dentures. Dr. Homann will likely be able to help with the majority of common dental concerns that you may have. However, not every procedure can be performed in-home. If this is the case, Dr. Homann will gladly refer you to the appropriate dental specialist or physician.
The Logistics

New patients must fill out a New Patient Packet, that can be accessed here ( Download Patient Form ), and mail it to Dr. Homann. If you don’t have printer access, please call Dr. Homann at (847) 439-9440 and the forms will be mailed to you. Prior to setting an appointment, Dr. Homann will review all the paperwork and will contact you with any questions.
Once all the paperwork is in order, a date and time will be set for an initial visit. Dr. Homann and his assistant will drive to your house or place of residence. Dr. Homann requires access to an outlet as well as an open space, preferably an 8 foot by 8-foot area for all of the dental equipment. If needed, Dr. Homann can treat patients in their bed or wheelchair. This is something that should be discussed with Dr. Homann prior to the first visit.
At the first visit, Dr. Homann will complete a full exam, take necessary x-rays, and then have a discussion about your oral condition, as well as any plans for treatment. If time allows, treatment may be able to be completed at that first visit. If the patient is unable to make decisions alone, the guardian must be present during the initial appointment.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of service and can be made via check, cash, or credit card. If applicable, we will also happily file your dental insurance claim. Your insurance carrier will reimburse you directly for any amount covered by your specific plan.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, make sure you do so at least 48 hours in advance or there will be a $150 fee. In times of medical necessity, this fee will be waived if you can provide a note from a physician stating there was medical emergency.
